Bean Bastard Coffee founder Nick Mirusso thrives off of a DIY punk rock mentality, ready and willing to do every aspect of his business himself. This included handling not just making and selling his coffee, but also branding it.
After seeing success selling his beans online and at events, he tagged Stronghold to help dial in his brand and guarantee his continued success. This started with a logo redesign and continued onto his packaging design.

Bean Bastard's coffee blends are tied together using a cohesive template but in order to differentiate them from one another they each use a unique accent color and icon. For their specialty blends some more simple color shifts, unique typography, and patterns help to make them feel stand out from the core blends.

In 2019, we developed a mascot for the brand, effectionately known as "Little B", which was so well received that we decided he needed to become the offical face of the brand. This coincided with Bean Bastard Coffee opening their first retail location, so it was a perfect opportunity to mature the brand while still retaining a quirky personality.
