Like many side hustles, Bean Bastard's founder Nick was doing everything himself. From roasting his beans in his garage to designing his own labels. As he saw more and more success selling his coffee at farmer's markets he realized it was time to take his brand to the next level. His original logo featured a gritty but realistic skull with a coffee bean for an eye and we wanted to keep that idea but present it, and the brand as a whole, in a more polished way. The result gave way to a mascot named Little B prominently featured on a streamlined bag design which made it easy to add new roasts to his ever expanding line. Bean Bastard was doing so well, finding its way into local shops and grocery stores and eventually a flagship coffee shop in Buffalo's Elmwood Village.
